I haven't posted Food Friday in sometime. I have had a variety of meals over the last month. I don't go out as much as you think but I do like to eat out. Although, my husband is a very good cook. I am a bit spoiled. Have a great weekend

Please enjoy. I have been working frantically to get ready for a show today. Yikes. I had to by a new printer. I had my Epson for 8 years. It died just before getting ready for a show. I went with a new Canon 100. So far, so good. I can make bigger prints now.

I just discovered a friend of mine has a koi pond. I could't wait to photograph the pond. It was a bit tough. Fish like to swim. I took about 30 shots to get these. So Peaceful

Here is our story

in 2011, three friends with a passion banded together to create Dedham's first artist run cooperative. The now 22 members have a cozy 900 sq ft gallery space and home base for their work, as well as an opportunity to connect with the community. As an all volunteer small business striving to be a sustainable gallery for local artists to grow and thrive, the $5,000 would go to a new awning, as well as much needed marketing materials and ads to get information to surrounding communities about our classes, workshops, artists challenges and events promoting local non-profits and organizations.

This is one of the best exhibits I have seen in awhile. These photos don't even do this exhibit justice. Samurai! the Museum of Fine Arts is a look back in time. The workmanship of these suits of armor would impress anyone. It is not just the workmanship it is also the individuality and look of these suits that will fascinate. A trip back in time to ancient Japan!

End of an adventure, NYC

My last shots from my trip to NYC. The morning before I caught the bus back to Boston, I took a walk around the hotel. I found some fun stuff like the a piece or the Berlin wall and a fun Uniqlo window. I ended my vacation at Silvertone in Boston. Always yummy food there.

We went to the ChikaLicious Dessert Bar on 10th street, NYC. This little place has a fun and cozy atmosphere. I loved that it was a price fixe menu with an optional wine pairing. You get to watch Chika and staff making your desserts. It seems like lots of love goes into these treats. Nice!

I just love the MoMa building in NYC. I feel the building is just as much a work of art as the art. Bill Brandt was a wonderful exhibit and one of my favs. I will have a few more photos tomorrow.

Pre-lunch art across from the Plaza Food Hall

We had lunch on our NYC trip at the Plaza Food Hall. This place is chock full of food choices and worth the trip. We all had sandwiches and salads. A perfect lunch before our trip to MoMA. I haven't been to MoMa in quite some time. It was a treat to revisit it. More photos soon

Museum after Hours 2 or Why I love Boston

The after hours event at the Gardener Museum was a a night of art, food, and a bit of bass baritone. I will explain. We watched a demonstration on making leather goods by Emily Lamkin from Artisan's Asylum in Somerville. People were able to make thier own creations. Emily's work was beautiful (below)

We wondered over to the Gardener greenhouse and each were able to get a little pot, dirt and two nasturtium seeds. as you may know one of my favorite flowers. We put them in little sandwich bags to take home

We ate at the cafe and were treated to a happy birthday song by our waiter, Jared Levin, a bass-baritone. He sung for another table and it was fun to find out he was a singer, as well. We visited the gift shop and the Anders Zorn exhibit. It was a wonderful exhibit, sadly no photos allowed. Isabella Stewart Gardner was a patron and friend of this painter. Mom bought a magnet in the gift ship with one of his photos on it. Sweet! We left the event and walked back to the train but on the way...

We walked past this mapping of the Rhino in front of the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. a young artist was projecting her light/photo show onto the Rhino. It was wonderful to see this work. Her name is Valeska Freire Marulanda. Her website is www.valeska.com. I love the skeleton artwork/mapping.

These photos don't do this work justice but I feel lucky we meet Valeska and were able to see her project. After watching her work for awhile, we decided it was time to head home. We walked by the Museum of Fine Arts. Much to our surprise we saw a little bunny running around the grounds. It was so cute!

This is why I love Boston. You can stumble upon artful and fun things as well as attend fun nights such as the After Hours events. This is a long post but I feel that it is needed. Last week was horrible and has really affected Boston.

Mom and I attended the Isabella Stewart Gardener museum after-hours event. There was art, crafting and flowers. The new part of the museum you are allowed to take photos, including the greenhouse. I love the nasturtiums. They are one of my favorite flowers. More tomorrow on our adventure

I love zoos and with my macro lens it was really fun to take picture. While in NYC we visited Central Park Zoo. It is not huge and fun. I loved the bird house.

I love Chelsea Market in Manhattan. I finally got to visit the this shopping and restaurant space. It was hard to choose something to eat. I loved watching the donut making. Very yummy looking!

I had fun visiting Artists and Fleas market in Williamsburg in Brooklyn. There is a fun vibe here. It is a combination of crafters, artisans, artists and vintage goods. It is open every weekend and worth a trip.

I have a heavy heart today. Boston was rocked by two bombs yesterday during the Boston Marathon. It is very tragic and sad.

Food Fest, Brooklyn Market

One of the goals of our trip to Brooklyn was to go to the Brooklyn's open air market. So much food to choose from and very big lines, that is a good sign. It was hard to choose what to eat for lunch. Finally, we decided on Takumi Taco's. Great choice and very yummier. Many in our party went for chicken, sandwiches and ice cream. My husband went for a second dish and choose fried sardines. I gave them a try, I think I could like them.
