Barcelona has varied and fantastic architecture. It is fun to walk in the city center and take roads and streets most tourists don't take. On our trip, we took many walks and purposely made the road less traveled a priority. Drink and food breaks were a must as well.

Thinking of Barcelona! I have just visited the city and sat eating and drinking on the Ramblas. Watching all the people walking by.
Barcelona is a vibrant and lively city but also laid back. This was my second visit to
Barcelona. I love this city, the museums, the architecture,
the food, the walks and the fun vibes.
What happened this week is very sad to me and my prayers go out to the people
of Barcelona and the people visiting this great city. I don't understand the people who
carry out these attacks and never will.

Barcelona has some of the best food I have ever had. And I get around and just love the food in this city. Tapas are so much fun and a good way of trying all the flavors of the city. With the help of google, Rick Steves book on Barcelona, and walking by places we thought looked good, we were able to find great places to eat. It was fun going to tapas bars and then walking to another spot for dinner.
We all loved eating all kinds Tapas, Octopus, Padron Peppers, Gazpacho, Fish, Ham, and more. I do recommend visiting the many food markets in the city such as Mercado de Santa Caterina. The El Mercat de la Boqueria is the most famous market. It can be very crowded so go early or an off time. At these markets, you can see what the city has to offer. You can pick up a snack too.
