Lyon is known for...

Lyon is know for it fantastic food. My favorite was the Salad Lyonnaise and I ordered everywhere. It is egg, bacon, croutons, Lettuce and a light dressing. We still haven't made it at home. Someday!

I also loved the old part of the city with it's funky buildings and stairs. Lots of Stairs and lotos of climbing our stairs to our hotel. It is a workout for sure.

Lyon and Whimsy

I just love merry-go-rounds and have to always photograph them. They are so much color, animals paint and whimsy. I always hope there are not too many kids around to get in  the way of my photographing.

Back to Lyon and the Food

We made that quick trip to Venice and then back to Lyon and all it's great food. Lyon is an easy going city with less tourists than Paris and lots of great food.

Gondola Ride, Venice

The gondola ride we took was great and I advice it. It was about 100 euros for six of us. We learned about the city and how people live in Venice. These are photos from our ride. We went before sunset and the light was perfect. These are a bit out of order on our trip but you get the idea. So great

Venice Details

The top photos are from our fantastic Gondola ride. It is a tourist thing to do but worth it! I recommend it and quite a few boats can seat up to six people and great for families. It was wonderful to go off the beaten canal and see the Venice in the eye of it's residents
