so summer!

We attended a friend's party in New Hampshire this past weekend. It was just perfect weather, sunny and warm. There were many kids there and lots of things for them to do. Swim in the kiddie pool, draw with chalk, bounce in bouncy house. It reminds me of when I was a kid. Fireworks were later, pretty great.

Patriotic Gnomes, Dinos and Lizards

Having fun with mini flags and my toys. I did order smaller flags from Amazon, These flags are a tiny but still a bit big. Even so it was fun to experiment. I hope to post these on my Facebook page for the fourth. I have been thinking about new holiday themes and these toys. It is not always easy to find
the right props at the right size.

Any suggestions?

Kitty Nose

This is my kitty, Greta. I adopted quite awhile ago and I think she is trying to adjust to my home and other the other cats.

I made a stand-up desk with a short table on top of my current desk. Greta likes to hang out underneath or beside my desk and look out the window at birds and little critters. I think it is also her way of showing her affection but hanging out with me.

Pop, Confetti

During the dance of this dragon the crowd was given confetti shooters. It was so cool to see all that confetti in the sky and blowing down the street. Combine confetti, Music and a dancing, fire breathing Dragon and it make for a exciting show. Although, the baby slept through the whole thing. He looks so peaceful.

Thanks for going along with this journey.

The Dragon dances, Chinatown

More photos from the Summer Festival. This one is a dragon troupe from Quincy, MA. It was really fun to see this Dragon Dance. The Dragon is so colorful and the colors contrast against the buildings around it. I saw many other photographers there. It would be interesting to see their take on this event.

Stay tuned for some more photos

Summer Festival, Chinatown

I took a trip into Boston Yesterday to attend the Chinatown Summer Festival. It was a treat to photograph lions and dragons in good weather. I always try to go the New Year's celebration but often it has been quite cold and snowy.

I was a little late but did get to see two dances. The dances consist of a lion or dragon and music along with the dancing. I was thankful that I brought my zoom lens. Much easier to capture the dances and action. More tomorrow…

What is your favorite festival to attend?
I am always looking for fun photographing opportunities

Remembering, Boston

I spotted this the other day in Boston near the Marathon Bombing site. I think it is a nice memorial of the people who died due to this senseless act.

Boston is a resilient place and came together at the time of the bombing.  My thoughts about what happened that day are not that easy to express in a blog post. People went to cheer on the runners and have a great time and then this happened.

Whoever made this, I thank them

Sage and a happy pig, Farm

This is the last of the Farm photos. The big was having a very nice time chomping on food
in it's vast grassy pen. Making it noises and chewing quite a bit. I will hopefully, go to the farm again sometime soon.

What is your favorite place to visit often?

Pottery, Fences and Pigs

Hog Wild Pottery

One of the reasons for visiting Powisset Farm was to see my friend Lisa Walker. She was selling her pottery along with her pottery partner, Susan Blum of Hog Wild Pottery. They were on hand in the barn to talk about their work. It is always great to meet the artist behind the work. Susan brought some of her own flowers to fill her vases.

The barn was also the place to buy veggies or pick up CSA Shares. The veggies looked beautiful and lucious.  As you know, after talking with the artists I wondered a bit around the farm.

More photos of the farm soon.
