I love all the Cactus and Succulents at the Wells let College Greenhouses. The collection are around the globe including United States. It reminds me of the time living in Tucson, Arizona. All the hikes I took and trying to avoid being stuck but spines. I brought my gnome on the greenhouse visit.

Birds of Paradise and more...

Today, I took a trip over to the Wellesley College Greenhouses and enjoyed photographing the plants in the greenhouses. I always discover something new. They have everything from Cactus to the Bird of Paradise. I also love the Koi pond. So peaceful.

It was too cold and snowy to walk around their botanical gardens. Always a treat!

Cabin Fever Undone

Millennium Park in West Roxbury is a huge park, that is mostly snow covered for now. I was able to walk on the roads and one fairly packed down trail with a friend, yesterday. There were so many people and people with dogs enjoying the outdoors. It was a balmy 50 degrees and so great to get outside. We celebrated later with a yummy lunch at the Rox Diner in West Roxbury Center!

Bright pinks

I am suffering for a bit of cabin fever as of late. I needed to post these beautiful orchids. The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston grows some of the most beautiful flowers. They are a breath of fresh air and remind me of Spring

Sweater for Trees, Dedham Square

This is so prefect to brighten up the gloomy days of winter. I am glad these have reappeared in Dedham Square. Not everyone likes these bit of yarn wrapped around a tree but I do.

My Old Man, Nelson

My cat Nelson is about 17 and has very funky eyes. I always marvel at how long he has lived with us. I found him many years ago as a tiny kitten in Arizona.

Sledding, it is about the dogs

When I took a walk around the MT Washington hotel grounds I stopped by the Sled Dog ride center. I basically followed the barking of the dogs. They are Alaskan Huskies, they are really not a pure breed dog. They Siberian Huskies breed with other dogs for strength and speed. Some of the dogs were shy but many loved to have some attention and play. Many of these dogs are rescues.

Poncho is a helper to Gonzo, he loves to play as well

This guy named Gonzo, is blind but is able to be part of the sled team because of the guidance of his seeing brother. He was so cute. This is a great story. Read about it here

Very fun to watch them run. I have never seen this live, only on tv and in movies.

Up North II

I had a great weekend vacation up North at Bretton Woods/Mt Washington Hotel. They have sleigh rides and dog sledding. I took a very long walk on Saturday around the property. I met the horses and some of the dogs. It was fun walking around and taking photos of some of my favorite creatures.

Up North, Bretton Woods

We were so lucky to stay at the Mt Washington Hotel last weekend. It is a spectacular hotel and a great getaway. The weather was clear and crisp. I walked around it's grounds with camera in hand.
