We were fortunate to visit the 9/11 memorial at the World Trade Center site. It was a gloomy and rainy day. After going through security, we finally arrived at the two fountains. the Fountains are so beautiful and I think it is a fitting tribute. It is also, kind of sobering with all of the victims names carved into the slabs. There were many white roses placed near many of the names. Very stark and moving
Note: Security and entrance is poorly planned and may be confusing. I was confused by where to go and where to get tickets we ordered online. Just be prepared. A security guard was having a bad day and yelling at everyone other than that security personnel were polite and friendly. Also, it was a slick and slippery day there was no sand or road salt around the fountains. Wear shoes with the most traction on bad weather days. Hopefully, they will work out the kinks.
The memorial is well worth visiting!
