Pattern and Reflection form the contemporary collection at the Museum of Fines Arts, Boston. Love this collection of art.
I am off on a trip to Amsterdam and Belgium today. I am very excited. My friends are doing another house swap in Amsterdam.
I hope to post often. It will be a great to go back to Amsterdam and also explore some new places.

Tara Donovan at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. I had a chance to see this being built and put together. It is Styrofoam cups and hot glue. It is pretty excellent and exciting to see the finished piece attached to the ceiling.

|Red Bones Restaurant Near Davis Square|
We made a trip out to Davis Square to see this small but fun exhibit at the Annex. The Annex is part of the Nave Gallery. The galley is a first floor of a home on Chester Street near Davis Square. It is an interesting idea for a gallery.
The theme is Phantomaton. It is a play off of Phantom and Automaton (Wiki definition here). It is an interesting concept and you can see what the artists are trying to do here once you read the definition.
I really loved the paintings, mixed media pieces and my favorites were the sculptures of Skundelia This exhibit had a short run. I am glad we got a chance to see it. I look forward to more exhibits at the Annex

Last week, despite the heat, I attended the Artbeat Festival in Somerville. I visited last year and had a wonderful time. I also love to visit with my artist friends that are showing thier work including City by the Sea Ceramics (below), Monkey Chow, Cody's Creations and more... This year's theme was Micro.
Davis square is an eclectic place even without an art fair. For two days artists, musicians, foodies, art lovers all converge in Davis Square. There is such a fun vibe. More photos soon....

Fun with items without color or all white at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. The styrofoam cups is a new installation just being set up when I photographed it. It was fun to watch the artists and assistants work on the project.

The 70s exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. I love all the colors, patterns, and fabric. There were many designers represented here such as Geoffrey Beene, Thea Porter, Giorgio di Sant'Angelo and more... There is also a jute box and it plays some very fun 70's hits. Worth a look. I met a friend for lunch at East Bay Grille in Plymouth. A very nice lunch indeed. We were able to sit our side under an awning. We had a nice sea breeze despite the heat. After lunch, I took a walk around Plymouth harbor. It is one of my favorite spots to photograph by the ocean winter, fall, spring, and summer.
