Summer Music, Endicott Estate

Island Fantasia preformed last night at the Endicott Estate as part of the Dedham Junior Woman's Club Summer concert series. It was a perfect night to relax and enjoy the music. The band had a great energy and quite a few people were moving to the music, including me. Children ran around with beach balls and freeze pops. So summer!

Cucumber Climb, Dedham

Using my macro and hanging out in my garden. My garden is very small but, I have many subjects to photograph. I am fascinated by cucumber plants and a fact that the climb up fences. It is pretty amazing.

Jeff and I went to Art Beat on Saturday. We have never been and I knew many of my fellow Boston Handmaders and other artful friends would be showing at this event. It was a lively and very big street fair. Lots of music, community groups, art and food. We started off our visit with a slush and off we went. Jeff bought a beautiful vase from one of the vendors, David J. Benyosef. It is gorgeous and now sits in our livingroom. I can't wait until next year.

Surprising Nature in Dedham, BioBlitz

I attended the Dedham Natural Wonders BioBlitz a couple of weeks ago. I loved seeing the bird demonstrations, plant life and lichens. I learned about the behavior of birds and especially, owls. There were kids activities and lots of wonderful maps and literature about surrounding parks, nature spots, animal track identification cards, and more.

I also attended the lecture on Lichens with Dr. Harold Schaefer. Later, we stepped outside to take a look at these fascinating plants. I took some lichen shots as well as other plants that caught my eye.
I brought along my new Macro lens to experiment with. Fun day to discover what is all around us

Music at the Cantab, Cambridge

Surprise, I have never been to the Cantab Lounge. Of all the clubs I have been to over the years! It was about time. My friend Julie's band, The Reactive opened up the night. I still find it hard to take photos in clubs. Someday I will get the hang of it. It was a fun show and after was a cover band of Rod Stewart and the Faces. Loved the wig and the outfits. They are called The Rods and they were pretty rocking.
