Field of White, American Cemetery, Normandy

Unknown Soldier

American Cemetery in Normandy, France

Omaha Beach

We visited Omaha Beach and The American Cemetery in Normandy, France. It is a big place with many crosses and Star of Davids. All white and in neat rows. It is hard to tell the scale of this cemetery without going there. There is a wonderful museum  at the cemetery. The Museum gave me tons of insight of what happened on D-day and WWII itself.  It was an amazing and awful day. It is hard to believe what happened here over sixty years ago. It was a moving and emotional experience and for quite a few people around me.
