Time to be Lost

Between my schedule, the snow and my bad memory card, I have not been out photographing a whole lot. I thought these were some cool shots from some of my past wanderings. I hope to get out today before more snow returns.

Good vs Evil! Superheroes vs Villians

We attended this show at the Space 242 on Friday night. Fellow photographer Matt McKee also had some pieces in the show. Opening night is was a kind of art party! Which, is always fun. Space 242 calls their art space as Boston's low brow destination for art. The show consisted of illustrations, sculptures and photographs of super heroes and villains. The gallery is open on Friday nights with a artist discussion next Friday.

My husband bought a piece called Mosquito Man from the artist Alyssa Adams. I love this piece. It will be a nice piece to add to his growing art collection.

I had taken photo of the show but my memory card went crapped out and the images are gone. I have tried to retrieve them but no luck. This makes me very unhappy.

Looking Out

These little kitties live near my friend Mimi. I was taking this from far away. They were so cute sitting together I just had to try to get a photo. I was wishing I could get closer to get a better shot.

Lots to do this weekend. Cleaning and organizing! What are your plans

Random Wandering

These are from the last few weeks. Some are from just wandering by the subjects or catching it while driving by. It has been hard to walk by anything, as of late. We have so much snow and not much melting in sight. No January thaw this year. I have high hopes for February.

Snow on the screen

Taken this morning, yet another 12 inches of snow! Soon, it is time for clean-up. I am not sure where we will put all the snow.

"...and they have escaped the weight of darkness"

On Monday night, My husband and I attended the Ólafur Arnalds concert supporting his new album at the newly refurbished Modern Theatre in Downtown Boston. I have taken a photo of the theatre earlier in the year. It was great to finally see an event here. We were given a free CD with our vip ticket purchase. Which was a very nice treat! There was no flash photography allowed but, I did managed to get a decent shot.

The combination of music, light and video art really made for a wonderful show. I cannot resist piano and violins. I am not the best at writing music reviews but, I can say I loved this show and would see this show again next time he is in Boston.

Watch a lovely Ólafur Arnalds music video here.

Mimi Kirchner Studio Visit

Yesterday, I visited my friend, Mimi Kirchner and helped her with one of her current pattern projects. I have photographed her studio before. Every time. I visit I am treated to a feast for the eyes and can't resist taking photos. I love all the colorful fabric pieces, threads, patterns and dolls that are around her studio. Also, Mimi's collection of art, handmade items and mementos is very fun to look and discover.

Do you have a a favorite memento you keep in your studio?

Polaroid at MIT

My eyes just lit up when I saw some of the Polaroid collection that the MIT Museum recently, acquired. They had on display old and newer cameras, prototypes and notes on the brand. The cameras were in a big display case and a bit high up. This is what I was able to photograph. There was also a wonderful photograph of Lady Gaga taken with a rare 20x24 polaroid camera on display. I want to visit these cameras again sometime soon.

Here is the story on the MIT site. Lady Gaga was on hand for the donation of this collection to the museum!

Yesterday, my hubby and I took a trip to the MIT Museum in Cambridge. The school is celebrating it's 150 anniversary with a exhibit at the museum. The museum also had an exhibit sculptures of Arthur Ganson. There is no flash photography allowed and very low lighting. That doesn't make for good shots but, I was able to take a few. The sculptures were so much fun to turn them on or manual turn a handle to make the sculptures move.

Along the Way

I finally made a little trip out of the house yesterday! It was dry weather although we had rain later on in the day. These pics are taken along the way to the crafty meet-up in Somerville.

I was attended a Crafty Meet-up meeting at fellow crafter and friend, Melissa's apartment. She offered to host our lively group. The gathering has become too big for the local coffee shop. I can't believe Mimi started this one year ago. I love all the conversations about life, etsy, our craft, shows, and other fun stuff. It is kind of a support group. I pray for good weather for next month's meeting.

A Little Lunch

My husband and I tried a new restaurant not far from my home. I am not sure if I had Lebanese food before but, I don't think so. We decided to give Al Wadi a whirl. We were not disappointed. I ordered the lamb kabobs, they were so tender and delicious. A salad came with the meal which, I heartily ate. It a very nice lunch on a very cold day.

Wig it

Yesterday, I walked by this store display. They were in the window of a clothing store at the local mall. I was doing some errands but brought my camera along just in case... Good thing. I love the colors of the wigs and mannequins.

Love these photos

Pizza Making

My husband loves to make homemade pizza. It is quite delicious. He also, uses his own pizza sauce. It is fun to watch him work with the dough and toss the dough a little bit. Every time, he tells me it is the best pizza he has ever made. The pizza is always good!
