Landmark, Boston

The Tam. This is a a no frills, dive bar has been part of the theatre landscape since, forever. I have been there a few times before a show. They don't serve food but, it is cool to walk down the street and grab a pizza and enjoy it in the bar. I have been walking by the bar for years and never notice the beauty of the vintage, Budweiser sign.

Esty Find: box64studios

box64studios is a featured artist on Etsy. I love to check out the featured artists but none of caught my attention like box64studios. The colors she uses are so bright and beautiful. These handmade paper creations really attract your eye and just pop. Have a look at her work on ETSY. A bonus. the artist uses eco friendly resources.

Peeps for you, ETSY

For awhile, now I have been making photography into wearable necklaces and plan to do more with my photography in 2011. I love peeps and I think they look so cute as a necklace. Who can resist these little pink bunnies. This little necklace is for sale in My ETSY shop.

Since, it is winter and snowy right now! I will have to be more creative with my posts. It can be often hard to get out and walk around when there is tons of snow!

Snow, 2010

These shots are from around my home, yesterday. Everything is coated in snow. We have a snow blower this year, so getting rid of the snow was a bit easier. Thank goodness! There was tons of drifting and the cold wind continues today. Brrr!

I hope to get out a bit today to take more photos.

Everyday, Boston

Some shots from my walk in Boston the other day. I had gone into Boston to meet my mom at the airport. Sadly, her flight was canceled until the nighttime. Her flight yesterday was also, canceled on the way home to North Carolina. She will be staying here until Wednesday, which is kind of great. We have had a giant snowstorm! White stuff everywhere. Photos later...

Fashion Stumble Upon, Boston

I was meeting friends for diner in the North end when I walked by the Peabody Store window near, downtown Boston. The store has on display the IIDA New England Fashion show participants. There were some really cool, fun and unusual creations. It was dark when I walked by and the display just popped. If you are in the area take a look.

Frog Pond Fun

The sure sign of winter is skating at the Frog Pond on Boston Common. There are really good skaters and some newbies hanging on to the side. It is fun the watch them intermingle and trying to get the hang of skating. I am a horrible skater myself.

I can't believe it is almost Christmas! The year has gone by fast.

Pop of Color

I just love Ornamental Cabbage! The color of these plants are so rich in vibrant even into January. It is a nice treat when everything has turned brown and sometimes very bleak.

Some more of my favorite blogs: Ann Gorbett, Vintage by Crystal, Windshield Diaries and Lea Bolvig.

We finally have snow, so photography walks will be a fun challenge. I am also, looking forward to some macro photography experiments inside where it is warm.

Paw

I had a little fun with my macro lens. My kitty Maddie was my model. I think she was a bit puzzled at my picture taking.

City Vertical

I don't do verticals very often, I don't think I have a vertical bias but, maybe. These are in Beacon Hill. Enjoy your Friday! Maybe a snowstorm in Boston on Sunday. It will be our first big snow if it happens.

Holiday Striped Socks and...

Some outtakes from the Santa Speedo Race. I love the two older sisters dressed up like each other. They were upset at my friend taking their photo but, I snuck this one in. I know not very nice, oh well. The dog was so adorable with mistletoe attached above it's collar.

More Santa Speedo Run

More photos as promised. The runners are asked to be creative with the costumes and have fun. They are having fun that is for sure.

Here are my answers to the rest of the blog questions.

6. Your favourite colour?
Hmm, I like black but I also love muted versions of bright colors like Pink, Blue and Yellow

7. Your perfume?
I love perfume. I have many bottles since my husband keeps buying it for me. Calvin Klein is my current brand

8. Your favorite film?
That is a hard one. I love Sense and Sensibility, but I love action films like the Bourne Identity. There are so many good films out there,  it is too hard to come up with a favorite

9. What country would you like to visit and why?
I would love to go to Turkey. I heard the food and scenery are really wonderful. It would be different from all the other places that I have gone too.

10. Make the last question and answer to yourself: what would be a perfect working world for you?
I am currently building my freelance design business, I would love to be busier with designing and of course work in my photography to my small business.

Thanks for reading. Thank you Nathalie for nominating me. I will being post a list of my favorite blogs soon.

Santa Speedo Run

Photos from the Santa Speedo Run or now it is called the SSrun. It was really fun to watch everyone be a bit rowdy and their very creative costumes. They run for children's charities. It wasn't very cold on Saturday so it was good for the runners and me to hang out and photograph the party. The runners were a bunch of Hams. More photo soon...

I have been chosen for a I love your price from Nathalie. I am very honored by this and will try to answer the following questions as best as I can. I decided to do these questions in two parts.

1. Why did you create the blog?
I created a blog in May 2008. I became a member of Boston Handmade and as a membership requirement you have to write a blog post once a month. I thought I should just start a blog, if I am going to being writing posts, anyway. I am a bit addicted to blogging, now. It is a great creative outlet for me and my writing has become slightly better.

2. What kind of blogs do you follow?
I like to follow other photographers blogs but I also like graphic design, art and home design blogs. I do have some guilty pleasures like the People of Walmart and Cute Overload

3. Favourite makeup brand?
I don't wear much make-up and I admit I buy things if they are on sale. I an using Maybelline and cover girl at the moment.

4. Favourite clothing brand?
I work at home so I shouldn't have to buy that much clothing at all but I do. It is a bad habit! I buy lots of Graphic T-shirts and pants on occasion from Express. I do buy clothes online which, is risky, I know. I can't say I have a favorite.

5. Your indispensable makeup product?
Foundation - let the flaws never show

New Home for Art, MFA

Several weeks ago, Jeff and I visited the new Art of the Americas Wing the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. There is a new restaurant of the main floor of this new space. We wandered around a few floors and plan to go back and see the rest, soon. There was so much to see. Some of the art was in other parts of the museum and have a new home in this new wing of the museum. It was fun to see some of these familiar pieces in their new home among art I have never seen before.

In the past, we have gone to the museum and has watched the progress of this wing through a window in the information center. It is great to finally be able to visit it fully finished.
