All Dressed Up

I thought this dog was so cute with his little purple, polkadot tie. Where is he going?

Curl and Swirl, Beacon Hill

I have spent three day photographing Beacon Hill and the Frog Pond on the common. It was purely by accident, but is been fun to take a new look at this historic area of Boston.

If you are in the Boston Area check out this show at the MFA: Fresh Ink

3:45, Boston

The days are getting darker, earlier. These are from a trip into Boston on Friday. I was helping out with the Boston Handmade Holiday Gallery. Which has come along quite nicely. I had a bit of time before the train so I went snapping.

Community, Dedham, MA

I am lucky to live in a vibrant community like Dedham. Saturday was a great to photograph the building a local park and attend a volunteer at the local Dedham Junior Woman's Club Craft Show.

I stopped by Churchill Park on Saturday. It was in the process of being built by volunteers from around Dedham. The park already has a ball field but this will give it a play area for families. When I arrived, volunteers were cleaning up and setting up the equipment for the new platground. Finger-crossed, the playground should be finished by mid-week.

I plan to go back and take some shots of the finished playground. I think it is wonderful that people come together to do something like this for their community. Read more here

I am a member of the Dedham Junior Woman's Club. Every year the club puts on the a Craft Show around the holidays. This year was the 29th year. I volunteered this year and I was able to take lots of photos of the fair for the club. I bought a few things, too. A little early Christmas shopping!

There were many crafters from Dedham and from all over New England. Local Dedham crafters included Amanda Adams of Polka Dot Packages, Amanda Cease of Callahan’s Closet, Susan and Laura Hurley, Eileen Borzilleri of Cheyleen’s Naturals, Brendan Hayes of Brendan Hayes Bird Ornaments, Janet Holmes of Bella Baskets, and Dave Sheehan of Our Favorite, LLC

It was a busy day and there were many volunteers. We all had a sense of camaraderie. The DJWC team that puts this annual fair together, work hard for months to pull this all off, and with great results. This fair supports the Dedham Junior Women's Club work for the community and independent small craft businesses.

Bubbles Downtown...

I love the happiness on this man's face. He was on stilts and entertaining people downtown. A local bank was doing a publicity event. It made for some fun photos. There was green everywhere, balloons, blow up man, people dressed up in green and on stilts. I am not sure if the event was successful but, I felt lucky to photograph it.

Impromtu Breakfast

My dad took me to an impromptu breakfast at The 50's Diner in Dedham. He ordered a Belgium waffle and me, I went with my traditional egg, bacon and home fries. My dad hadn't had a waffle in ages, he really enjoyed his breakfast. The whip cream was artfully piled high. He was able to spread it around before I snapped the picture. My breakfast was tasty and a nice treat.

Cutie Candy...Downtown Crossing

I thought it would be ironic and funny to photograph a photo that was already taken of a reflection of a store window. The other two windows are Tello's. There has been these two mannequins with changing lingerie outfits for months now, maybe a even year or so.

I had a favorite mannequin on Winter Street with different outfits for every season or holiday. Sadly, he has been taken inside the store so I can no longer photograph him. I will have to settle for the Tello's windows.

Rebirth, The Modern

For years, I have walked by this theatre. It was boarded up for years and it looked like nothing was happening with it. Eventually, and carefully Suffolk University has restored the facade of this building. It has become a residence hall and performance space. I was so excited to see it all redone and looking beautiful. This is a wonderful addition to Boston's downtown and the sign is pretty darn cool.

Etsy Finds, 2011 Calendars

1. Nella Designs

It is that time of year to start thinking about your calendar purchases. I was poking around ETSY and found some nice ones. Some photography and some Graphic Images. I think I will by not buy a mass market calendar this year. One of these designs would look great in my home.

The Last, South Carolina

I was only visiting my friend in South Carolina for a few days but we managed to pack quite a bit in. We walked around Charleston, visited a tea plantation, checked a really old tree, went on a harbor tour, had lots of great food, including eating at Zia Taqueria, very yummy. I just had to order a mexican coke. I used to live in Tucson, AZ, I bought them all the time. I hope you have enjoyed my photos

Mighty, The Angel Oak

It is thought that this tree, The Angle Oak, is about 1500 years old. I have to tell you it is one massive tree. I was blown away by its size of it's trunk and how far out it's branches have grown. I have never seen a tree like this and feel lucky to be able to photograph this wonderful spectacle of nature.
