From the Gardens, The Cloisters

The Cloisters, NYC

I have always wanted to visit The Cloisters in New York City. The Cloisters is part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It is a collection of art and architecture of Medieval Europe. The art is from the 9th Century to the 15th Century. The property also, includes beautiful gardens. The architecture of this building is quite wonderful. This was such a peaceful place and it did not disappoint. I will post photos of the gardens later.

My uncle, John and I visited the Museum of Arts and Design at Columbus Circle in New York. I loved this museum. I especially liked the Dead or Alive Exhibit. The floors are spacious and the art is displayed in such a way that it is not over crowded. This was videos of each artist explaining their work if you wanted to know more. Sadly, no photography allowed.

These photos are from the museum restaurant, Robert. It is on the ninth floor and had great views of Columbus Circle and Central park. We each ordered the three-course brunch. My steak was so yummy and cooked perfectly. I love the mini bread, too.

Pattern, Boston

Two fun sets of patterns from the streets of Boston. I was meeting friends for dinner and drinks and got a few shots in on the way to Silvertone. I love that I captured my pink toe.

I made a another trip to New York over the weekend and will posting photos of the Cloisters and the view from the Museum of Arts and Design.

Eat, NYC

Some fun places we ate Sarabeth's and the Pig and Whistle for breakfast. Our Irish waitress at the Pig and Whistle was very sweet and we talked about the beauty of the Northern Ireland Coast. A nice bonus, bloody marys came with our breakfast, tasty. And what is a New York trip without going to Burger Heaven, although, I ordered a yummy salad. There is tons of fancy food in New York but, there is great comfort food, too.

What is your favorite comfort food? My favorite Boston places are Silvertone and Bukowski's.

NYC Here and There

I am headed to New York again, this time to visit my uncle. Next my food adventures of New York. If you read this blog often you know how much I am into food.

WD-50, New York City

We were so luck to be able to eat at WD-50 on Saturday night. My friend Darren made reservations some time ago and wanted to celebrate all of us getting together. My husband and I also, celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary. We all did the tasting menu and ate some fantastic and surprising food. I had the best lamb dish I ever had in my life and I have had some good lamb. It really sticks out in my mind as one of the best things I have ever eaten.

We were guessing our waiter might be a Shakespearean actor with the way he delivered the names of the dishes. He was very of fun. The restaurant had wonderful service.

I asked if I could take photos of the kitchen and the chefs. I just wanted a photo from a distance and not be in the way. They led me to the kitchen to take photos and I felt so special. I was kind of star struck. It was a blast

The High Line, NYC

"The High Line is a public park built on a 1.45-mile-long elevated rail structure running from Gansevoort Street to 34th Street on Manhattan's West Side."


The last time I visited New York the park was closed. I have always wanted to see the High Line. I think it is so cool that they have used this old rail line to make a public space. It is fun to be in a park and be a couple stories up and looking at all buildings and neighborhoods. There were places to sit and relax, hang out, and also there were artists showing their work.
