From Colonial Times

These are shots of the people dressed up in colonial dress at the Sheep Shearing Festival and some of the little scenes I spotted. These are the last of the photos from the festival. I didn't think I would have so many photos.

Festival

More shots from the Sheep Shearing Festival at Gore place. One of the reason i went to this was to check out the craft show that took place there. Fellow Boston Handmader, Bexx Caswell of White Sparrow Bindery was showing their beautiful books. (top photo).

It was fun to see people dressed up in period costume checking out the crafters wares. We also visiting some of the animals on display and watched a demonstration of the many skills of Border collies. These trained dogs are very good at herding sheep and goats. It was fun to watch these dogs in action. Each dog knows over 40 commands. The sheep didn't seem altogether amused.

What is a fair without greasy, bad for you food that tastes so good. You have to love anything with cheese and bacon on it.

Sheep

I went to the Sheep Shearing Festival at Gore place in Waltham with my friend Jaye. We hung out with friend and fellow artist, Nancy and her husband, Scott. The sheep shearing was really cool. The man doing this seemed so thin and that he couldn't lift a sheep so big. It was incredible how much wool comes off the sheep. He used huge shears to cute off the wool and methodically worked his way around the animal. Hopefully, the sheep felt cool after this was done. More tomorrow...

Bowling Blur

We had girl's night at Kings on Friday night. It was a blast. I hadn't bowled in quite some time. I wasn't too bad, only a few gutter balls. My shoulder hurt the next day but it was worth it.

Pink Bloom

I was walking around Dedham Square photographing historical subjects for a upcoming History tour brochure I am designing. I came across this tree with just beautiful blooms. I hadn't seen this flower so large and the color is so delicate.

The last

This is the last of the photo. I found a Brighams ice cream shop on our trip and took a few pictures. It takes me back in time. I had a blast shopping and taking photos. I am going to photograph the goodies I bought in the next few weeks or maybe this week.

Craft Crawl

Mimi's Studio (photos above)

Our crafty group was Mimi, Crystal, and Liz. The day started at Mimi's studio. It is a feast for the eyes. Full of dolls, fabric, thread, and all kinds of craft supplies.

After, Balich's, we drove over to Play Time. Wow, what a place. This store is jam packed with craft and art supplies. It was almost overwhelming. I bought a few things to photograph. I am doing some macro lens shots. Hopefully, I will post them next week. We also took a ride over to Art Beat. A very cute store, full of gifts and lots of arty things. I picked up some Japanese erasers including a tiny pig and cupcake. We had such a great time visiting the five and ten and the craft stores.

I also took a few shots of Arlington. I can't help myself.

Five and Ten

My friend, Mimi, asked a a group of us to check out a few craft shops and Balich in Arlington. Balich is a five and dime store in Arlington Heights. You don't find these stores very often. It had everything from underwear to toys to craft supplies. The workers at the store were great in letting me photograph the store. It was like walking back in time

Woodlands

My husband and I took a walk on Noanet Woodlands in Dover. It was so pretty and quiet. I haven't been in many years, maybe before we were married. It was such a sunny day, we just had to get out in be in nature.

These are some shots from a walk around my neighborhood. I had a little fun with some grunge actions in Photoshop. Well, not the bottom photo. It looks kind of cool on it's own. I though maybe all of you missed my photos that have a few filters and actions thrown in. It is nice and sunny here today. I am headed over to Arlington, MA this morning for a craft store crawl. I hope to buy some goodies and take some pics.

Red

I bought some of these tomatoes at The Dedham Square Country Store. It is open on Sunday 10-2pm. The tomatoes were beautiful and quite tasty. They made a for a great addition to my lunch. Yummy!

I am going a little pet crazy. Izzy or her full name is Isabelle. love to chase bugs. I caught her checking out a little bug on the other side of the screen. She chases moths, ants and every little creature that she spots. Happy Monday

Rocky

This is Rocky. He is 11 months old and so cute. My husband and I just met him for the first time. He belongs to our friend's Bob, Susan and their daughter Sophie. They live down the cape. We hadn't been to stay with them for quite awhile and was a real treat to be able to visit them. Rocky was very confused as to what I was doing and it was hard for him to be still but, I got a few good shots.

Fenway

We attended a Red Sox at Fenway Park game last night. This is the first game I have gone to in quite some time. I missed the sights and smells of a baseball game. Of course, we all had hot dogs and peanuts for dinner. It was rainy and cold but, we still had a great time. I hope to go again and it is better weather to get in some more shots. Fenway park is always a nostalgic trip back to baseball's past.

Davis Square Bits

I didn't have much time before the Crafty meet-up to photograph. I was once again, snafued by the community rail. I am a big supporter of public transportation but sometimes, I really want to bag it and drive. But, I digress! I found some new things to photograph and it was fun discovering them.
