Days of Old, Vermont

This was taken way back when on our honeymoon in Vermont. We ate at this lovely inn. I forget the name now. I have been going through my negatives, again. Vermont is one of my favorite places to go. We picked a place only a few hours away from Boston, that week we were headed for Arizona to live for a few years.

I love the light in this alley in the North End. It is so peaceful and soft. Happy Wednesday

Pizza

We made a trip to Regina Pizzeria in the North End of Boston. It has been open since 1926. The kids love it and my nephew, Shane wanted some Boston pizza before going back to Florida. It was so delicious and a bit hot. I burnt the roof of my mouth but, it was worth it.

Holiday Lights

Last night, I picked up my artwork from the Boston Handmade Holiday Store. It was sad to see the store shut down for the season. We decided to take my niece and nephew to Pizza Reginas for my nephew's last night in Boston. The holiday lights were so pretty and the temperature pretty warm for this time of year. It was nice to see the North end all decorated for the holidays.

A little Help

Issy was helping, well, just getting into things while I was attempting Christmas clean-up. She loves to jump in the paper, sleep under the tree and steal the ornaments.

Frog Pond

It is skating time at the Frog Pond on Boston Common. People have been skating here every winter since 1997. People seem to have a blast skating around, some doing fancy moves and some falling down.

Passing by II

Photos taken on the commuter train on my way home from the Boston Handmade Holiday store. The days are are on the other side of growing longer. Which, I have been looking forward, too.

Windows, Boston

These are some window shots from Downtown Boston. I took them before heading into the Boston Handmade Shop. It was a very cold day but I can't help myself from photographing. Today is my last shift at the shop. I hope it is busy, people have been snowed in for part of the weekend. So I hope they are catching up on holiday shopping.

Santa

My favorite wacky mannequin is finally dressed up like Santa. He is a bit thin to pass as santa and his beard and wig don't quite fit right. We are snowed in today which, is kind of nice. Hopefully, we will have a white Christmas

Green Bike

I was in South Station and spotted one of my favorite subjects, bikes. I love the springs and old fashioned look of this bike. Enjoy your Saturday

Down on the farm

We have a farm share or CSA with a lovely farm in Dover, MA. It is great to pick up vegetables for the winter. Most of the farm share is made up of vegetables such a squash, rutabaga, potatoes, onions, but we do receive some lettuce and cabbage. It is wonderful to have fresh vegetables this time of year. I took a few shots at our last pick-up.

Chinatown Bits, Boston

One of my favorite places to photograph is Chinatown. So many funny little spaces. The pig in the mural looks like it has fries on it's head. China Pearl is on of my favorite places for Dim Sum. It is great to go there on a Sunday and and eat all kinds of treats. It is always bustling. As a kid. I remember it was one of my grandmother's favorite Chinese restaurants. A fond memory!

Aliens in the Window

Every year, I look forward to Macy's holiday store window displays no matter how goofy. They do move which, is a fun thing. Part of the window display was traditional and the rest were aliens type of characters. They are kind of cute and a little bit strange.

Speeding by

I was on the train going home around 3:30pm. The sun was starting to go down. I love the light at this time of day in year, soft and glowy. I took this photo before the train got going too fast. This is just as we were leaving South Station

Shadow

I was in Boston the other day on one of those clear and very crisp days. I love the shadow that is bike has made. Usually my subject would be the bike but I was attracted to the shadow right away.

All Dressed Up

I made a visit to my favorite wacky and disturbing mannequin. I am not understanding the lipstick. He was wearing his finest winter gear. I can't wait until he is in a santa suit again this year.

Little Doggy in the Window

This little toy doggy was part of the window display at Macy's downtown Boston. For some reason he looks a bit concerned. Every year, Macy's has a holiday display in their windows. I look forward every year to stopping by to take a look. I love this kind of stuff

Snow

I really love the beginning of the winter season. It will snow and then the sun comes out. It can be beautiful. I never like to shovel it though.
