Things that Pop

Some out take shots I have taken in my walks around Boston and my own neighborhood. The gun to me is the best example of a thing that really pops against a background. I must have looked funny taking a photo of it, but I am used to that.

I took a stroll around Wrentham, MA on Saturday. It was a beautiful day and I was on my way home from a lunch date. I have driven through the town hundreds of times this time I decided to stop and really walk around. I love the kitty in the window.

Lansdowne, Boston

I was meeting friends on Lansdowne street, near Fenway Park, for dinner and drinks. I brought the camera along just in case I got a few shots on the way. I have been over to this area hundreds of times and was happy to find a few new things. fun!

Isabelle and Nelson

Isabelle has found a friend or rather a victim in my other cat, Nelson. Nelson is often jumped on and has his head and ears bitten or licked depending on Isabelle's mood. He seems to take in stride for the most part. Happy Friday

A few color shots for you. It was fun to walk around the harbor and see and smell the harbor even, when it smells funky. I live in a landlocked town, so it is treat to be near the sea.

Plymouth is a half way point from my home to Yarmouthport. My friend Susan and I meet for lunch and a walk. Yesterday, we picked Woods Seafood for twin lobsters. They were so tasty, yum! We took a stroll around this historic harbor, very New England. Of course, I took lots of photos. More tomorrow

South End Open Studios and Market

Sunday, a friend and I took a trip over to South End Open Market. I usually am working when I am there. This was a nice treat to shop the open market and browse the Sowa Antique Market. Open studios was also happening. We had fun wandering around artists studios. The top photo is of a sculture by Brian Murphy There is also a Farmer's market, where sampled a bit of food like some tasty Lawton's Family Farm's cheese from Foxboro, MA.

What Remains

These are some of the plant shots from Endicott Estate garden plots. I love the brussel sprouts (bottom photo) it was a very tall and I suspect left to grow wild. I it hard to believe summer is over today, although Wednesday is predicated to be 80 degrees, here in the Boston area.

Endicott Greenhouse, Dedham

I stopped by the greenhouse, yesterday. The community gardens are winding down. It was interesting to see what is still growing in late september, some plant photos tomorrow. I love the cracked paint of this old greenhouse. It has a timeless feel

Hot dog on a Stick, Santa Cruz

Ode to Summer, fall is upon us here in New England. I took this years ago on a visit to Santa Cruz, California. I was visiting friends, who live in San Jose. We took a trip to the coast to walk the pier and beach. Some of the most delicious food are on a stick. I was drawn to this sign, very kitchy.

Thru the Glass

Yesterday, I took a short little photowalk just outside Norwood Center. I brought some new work over to Custom Art Framing and Gallery 9. There is some cool new art up on display. If you are in the area you should stop by.

Goth Revisit, Amsterdam

Original Visit - Amsterdam 2006

It was great to find this shop again on our visit this year to Amsterdam. The overall theme was black instead of red. I love the vibrancy of this shop window. I knew immediately, it was the same shop, I had photographed years earlier. Although, the male mannequin does look a little worse for wear.
