I decided to do some Christmas shopping. It was a beautiful day and I wanted to treat myself after getting the last of my raking done. I bought a small gift from Blue Bunny and paid a visit to Nest. One of my favorite store windows is the Heart of the Square. The displays are lovely and inviting. I hope to do some more shopping for the holidays in the square.

These are a bit gritty, a different side of the North end that tourists may not notice. I love this section of Boston, it's hustle and bustle, it's vibrancy, and the smells of good food. The north is cramped and full of restaurants, bakeries, and shops

Soon our family and friends will be here to celebrate the holiday. My husband has been preparing for a few days now. Lots of shopping and cooking. It should be a nice feast and I am thankful for many things. Happy Thanksgiving

Yesterday, I met my mom at Logan Airport, she was flying in from North Carolina for the holiday. We decided to grab some lunch at Silvertone. Once, you eat lunch you have to work it off with a nice walk from Downtown to the Back Bay. We stopped by one of my favorite stores Lord and Taylor and then to the subway home.

I took a quick walk down by Memorial field and the VFW post in Dedham. It seems like ever American town has a VFW. I drive by it all the time and decided to stop and take a walk and see if there were any good shots. I was pleasantly surprised. Have a great weekend

I have dug into my negatives again. I don't remember where or when I took these, I know it was some time ago. I love to visit old cemeteries and photograph graves and statues. Cemeteries are also very quiet and peaceful and sometimes has quite a bit of nature.

Even though the leaves have fallen and fall has truly set in, nature can be beautiful. There are still some bright colors and the streams still flow. Winter is almost here, but nature can be still enjoyed.

I have been taking nights shots as of late. It does get dark really early here now and I seem not to be out during the day when I have my camera. That said, I do like to to take city shots at night, the lights, the buildings, the subway, the people and vibrancy. These are in Downtown Crossing

Yesterday, was inventory drop off/set up shop day. We also, had a monthly meeting, the gathering of BH minds. The shop is really coming along. One of the fun things we were able to do is set up the handmade monkeys. They are so cute just hanging around! The Boston Handmade team was able to set up some of the other items including jewelry, scarfs, and paper goods. The November 27th opening will be here before you know it.

Friday, I had to go on some errands and found myself in Norwood Center. I took a few shots. I think the wig on this mannequin is so quirky and kind of cute. she doesn't look very happy in her uniform and her hat is ready to fall off.

I met some friends at Silvertone, last night. I haven't had much chance to get out and photograph so the camera came with me. The Corner Mall has been a fixture in Downtown Crossing for ages. I remember visiting this tiny mall in college a long time ago. Funny, I have never photographed it. I love the red glow
