Late Color

I wasn't sure if I was going to take any fall foliage photos. I had taken them last year. I had started out taking a walk to capture my neighbors halloween displays and ended up taking fall photos. I did try to have a different take on it. We have had a recent set of rain storms so most of the leaves have fallen off the trees. That means lots of raking for me.

ETSY Finds

Sometimes, I like to poke around ETSY to find inspiration, gifts, or just for fun. Today I was looking for more graphic oriented creations since, this is a design blog too. I have been ignoring that part of my blog and personality, as of late. I am also a freelance graphic designer. I love the whimsical designs from these shops 1. Sweetbella Cards, 2. Seasonal Delights, 3. Paper and Inkling, and 4. Tiny Bazaar

My husband made this the other night. Beer Can Chicken is delicious and tasty dinner. Everyone laughs when you mention the name but, once they try it they love it. The chicken comes out tender and juicy. It does look funny on the beer can

Dedham Day, Dedham, MA

I stopped by Dedham's annual Dedham day. It had be postponed and finally taking place, yesterday. It was a beautiful day, so sunny and warm for October. There were rides, fair foods, and lots of families. I had taken photos of this event last year so my goal was to have a different take on the fair.

North End, Boston

I love walking the streets around the North End. Everywhere you turn there are interesting things like funky windows, old brownstones, vintage signs, etc. I had taken a trip over there at about 11 am on a Wednesday so the streets were kind of quiet and the weather was sublime.

Perfect Day for a Photowalk

I walked from the North end down to the Back Bay to meet my friend Becca for lunch. It was a perfect fall day and I took lots of photos. I haven't been to the North End to photograph is quite some time. It was fun going back to some familiar places and discovering places and things I had not seen before. Happy Friday

Puffy Clouds

It was such a beautiful day yesterday, I walked to the train station. The clouds were delicately spread across the horizon. I love a late October Sky. Soon photos from my walk in Boston.

Photoshop Experiments

I found some new free backgrounds online and decided to add some photoshop actions to these photos. It is fun to see a photo transformed to something more moody and mysterious.

Costume, Boston

My favorite store mannequin in Boston. Yesterday,he was dressed up in a black and white showgirl dress. I think it was to advertise a costume in the shop. The lipstick is not quite right and the poor thing has no arms. The dress looks kind of cute. I am just not sure about it's presentation.

This scene is across the street for the Waltham Community Fields Farm. Despite the traffic this area has a very quiet and serene feel to it. I love the sweep of the lawn up to the home.

Fairbanks House, 1641, Dedham, MA

My friend Steph and I took a tour of the Fairbanks house, yesterday. They don't allow photos inside this historic home. I took a few photos of the home and grounds. It was built in 1641, originally historians thought it was 1636. It is thought to be the oldest timber frame building in North America. It was an interesting tour and a look into american life over the centuries. I have lived in Dedham for a total of twelve years and have never visited the house. Finally, I rectified this and took the tour.

Last Days

Yesterday, was my last visit to the Waltham Fields Community Farm, in Waltham, MA. I bought some beautiful pumpkins grown on the farm, picked some raspberries and gathered up my veggies. Our share this week contained lettuce, arugula, peppers, tomatoes, brussels sprouts and other selections. It is sad the season is ending soon. I have enjoyed all the fresh veggies from our farm share.

Sandwiched Monchhichi, New York

Remember, Monchhichi? I hadn't thought about this funny doll/monkey in many years. I photographed this little guy in a New York City window. He looks a bit out of place and maybe even frightened by Stewie of the Family Guy. A little fun for Thursday.

Landmarks, 109

The sign photos from my walk along 109 in Westwood. I really like the retro lettering of the US post office sign. In the near future I will be driving down 109 and pick another town to photograph.
