We went sailing yesterday with our friend Jeff Anthis and his coworkers. It was great to spend the day sailing around Boston Harbor. This is a photo from my position on the boat. I love the lines in this photo. I haven't been sailing in years so this was a real treat.

I took this some time ago but thought it was a interesting photo. It was by accident but it had an interesting result. We went to the Thom bar upstairs from Kittichai (www.kittichairestaurant.com) in New York to meet some friends. We went downstairs for some dinner at Kittichai and it was terrific, with great atmosphere.

I picked up my farm share from Waltham Fields Community Farm on Tuesday. I took a few photos of the farm. I decided to apply some filters to these photos. The first one of the boxes I used the filter Fresco in Photoshop. The tomato photo is with the Palette Knife. It is kind of fun. The filters give the photographs a totally different feel

This is a photo of the store, Vessel, on Kingston Street near Chinatown in Boston. I thought this reflection of the buildings on the other side of the street looked really cool. The cutoff letters add a bit of drama.
The store has many modern furnishings and housewares. Very funky. www.vessel.com

Sometimes, I use a my little sony camera to take photos. (this is a newer model pictured) It is pretty handy. This camera has made it easier to take photos when I don't want to take my big Nikon out. I often take photos on errands or when I meet friends in Boston. I took these photos yesterday in Norwood Center. I love this door. It is pretty funky and colorful. The window photo speaks for itself. It is a common theme in my work. I can't help myself

I recently took photos in this historic burial ground. It was established in the 1600's. Many famous people are buried there including Sam Adams and Paul Revere. It is located next to Park Street Church in Downtown Boston. I love all the old gravestones. They are similar to the the gravestones in Dedham, I recently photographed.

We recently took a drive up to Cape Elizabeth, Maine. The drive was really beautiful. We don't often take long drives but, we needed a little getaway. We ate a the Lobster Shack at Two Lights and enjoyed the great views from their picnic tables. I took these photos while we up in Cape Elizabeth.

I was walking around Boston's chinatown and downtown last night. I love the windows in Chinatown. The are very colorful and full of funky displays. The photo below is the H&M window downtown. I think they do a great job with their window displays. I was attracted to these bright red leggings. They really pop from the window.

The other day I took a walk over to the St Paul's Episcopal Church cemetery. The church started as a wooden church in 1758. So the cemetery is quite old. There are some great looking details and old rod iron fencing. Here are some of the photos I took. I plan on visiting the cemetery again. http://www.stpauls-dedham.org

I took my niece and her friends to Six Flags for an early birthday gift. Surprisingly, Six Flags was not that best place to photograph. It is a newer park and doesn't have that days-of-old feel of older independent parks and boardwalks. I did manage to get these pictures. They are kind of fun and have the feel of summer.

I was using my macro lens yesterday. I was trying to come up with an idea for a exhibit at Custom Art Framing with the theme "life is a bowl..." I did come up with a great close up of garlic bulbs in a bowl. The initial idea was to photograph the dog that I have. I went to AC Moore which, has loads of great little miniature things. I bought my little dog a bed but, had a hard time finding a good dog bowl. My idea never really came to fruition. So I decided on the garlic. But I thought this photo was cute.
The photo I am going with is below.

Dedham, Ma has many old building in it's center including courthouses and lawyer's offices. Some them have rod iron fencing with some neat architectural details. I am really attracted to these shapes. This one had a cool swirl pattern to it.

My new Photography business card. I finally have designed a new one that reflects my current style. The next design will be my graphic design business card. That is always harder to decide how to represent myself. I finally have to sit down and design it.

I took this photo a few years ago. I love old fashioned signs. This is for the Town Square Diner in Norwood, MA. I originally took this one in color and then decided to give it a sepia tone look. I think it adds to the old fashioned look.

I stopped by the Endicott Estate. There are these old green houses. These structures have lots of great details to them. They are very old fashioned looking. They grow plants there in the spring and sell them to benefit the schools in Dedham. I have bought many plants there for my yard

I have been working with my photos of our trip. I am trying to put together a Shutterfly slideshow for friends and family of our trip. I came across this photo I took on the Jail tour in Dublin. I love the light in this photo. I couldn't decide what I liked best the color or sepia tone

I took a walk around downtown Dedham. I needed to buy a gift for my friend's birthday. I am late with the gift. I feel a bit guilty. Anyway, I wanted to but something from a local shop. I took the camera along. I took these two top photos of a local florist shop. I love the old fashioned light. I did buy this great totebag at a store called Nest http://www.nestdedham.com/

We belong to the CSA (community supported agriculture) Waltham Fields Community Farm, in Waltham, MA. We took a ride over yesterday to pick up our weekly share. It was threatening to rain and then did rain while we were there. I was only able to take a few photos. We did get some great looking tomatoes. www.communityfarms.org

Carrickfergus Castle - This was our first sight that we visited along the Antrim Coast. It was built around 1180AD. It is just north of Belfast. I thought it was well preserved for it's age. We went on the self-guided tour. The castle had lots of great plaques explaining life at the castle including a small dungeon. http://www.travelsinireland.com/castle/carrickfergus.htm
Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge - We went to this bridge. I was a little scared crossing it. A man that I spoke with told me years ago many wooden planks on the bridge were missing, yikes! It takes you to Carrick Island. Fisherman had erected this bridge to check on their Salmon nets. The view on the island was fantastic and we could spot Scotland from the island. We were very lucky it was a sunny and calm day. http://www.discovernorthernireland.com/product.aspx?ProductID=2829
Giant's Causeway - We visited this distinct area on the coast. It has these crazy geometric rock formations. It is almost hard to believe they are real. You could walk on the formations like steps. It was a easy walk from the visitor center with lots of pretty scenery on the way. http://www.giantscausewayofficialguide.com/
Dunluce Castle - This was our last stop before heading back to Bettystown. It was situated on a cliff. The views from the castle are spectacular. The castle was built in the 1500's but has now fallen into ruin. It is a great place to explore. It is along some beautiful country and fantastic coastline. http://www.irelandseye.com/aarticles/travel/attractions/castles/dunluce.shtm
